The application of high technology in processing and preserving agricultural products and food is becoming a crucial driving force helping Vietnam increase added value, enhance competitiveness, and develop sustainable agriculture.
From July 15th to 17th, 2026, the 2nd Vietnam International Exhibition on Agricultural and Food Processing, Packaging and Preservation Industry (Vietnam PFA 2026) will be held at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City. The event is expected to continue to be an important meeting point for domestic and international businesses, contributing to the modernization of Vietnam’s agricultural and food processing industry.

Despite its strong agricultural sector, Vietnam still faces numerous challenges, particularly high post-harvest losses, inconsistent preservation and processing technologies, and limited added value for agricultural products. In this context, the application of high technology, automation, digitalization, and smart solutions throughout the entire agricultural value chain—from production and harvesting to preservation, processing, and consumption—is considered an essential direction.
To promote this process, the KC.07/21-30 Program “Research, application and development of processing and preservation technologies for agricultural, forestry and aquatic products and mechanization in agriculture,” chaired by the Ministry of Science and Technology, is being implemented during the period 2021-2030. This is one of the key national science and technology programs, aiming to master technology, improve productivity, quality and efficiency throughout the agricultural value chain, thereby contributing to building a modern and sustainable agriculture.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien emphasized: “Promoting green value chains is not just the task of the agricultural sector, but the responsibility of the entire society. Only with close coordination between the State, businesses, people, and international organizations can Vietnam comprehensively transform the agricultural production and consumption ecosystem, moving towards a modern, green, and globally competitive agriculture.”
Vietnam PFA 2026 is expected to become an effective bridge between domestic agricultural and food businesses and international partners. The exhibition is expected to bring together nearly 250 booths from approximately 200 businesses operating in the fields of raw materials, additives, processing industry, automation, packaging, preservation, etc.
